  4. Next Day Delivery growth was 31.7% in 2018. There’s something attractive about fast-tracked parcels and the expectation for this feature has increased significantly.

  5. Consider distributed inventory to make it easier to cater to faster delivery times; cross-town, inter-city and regional.

  6. Australians are spending! Last year we spent $27.5 billion online, an increase of 24.4% YOY with 73% of households buying online. Make the most of online opportunities particularly those documented by the media including Black Friday and Cyber Monday - have a clear plan in place and execute it efficiently.

  7. We all love impulse buyers, but not everyone acts on impulse. Target indecisive consumers with ‘buy now-pay later’ solutions – take ‘money-worry’ out of the equation. Afterpay, Openpay, Zip – explore your options and make it a priority.

  8. Don’t underestimate the impact of social media. Take a vested interest in your online presence, whether it be social channels, your brands online messaging or customer service/interaction on your website. 

  9. Stay up to date with social trends. 81% of people use Instagram daily. Get to know the app and utilise features like stories and IGTV - establish a tailored approach that works for your brand, build a presence and stay ahead of competitors.

  10. Organic reach only goes so far. Branded content ads can be a cost-effective way to target online buyers. With features that allow you to filter to a specific audience, you have direct access to your target market.
